ABOUT
The Port Colborne Art Club is the oldest art club in Port Colborne and is also one of the longest running community groups in the City’s history. We have served members from throughout Niagara for more than 75 years!
As long-term tenants of the Julia Yager Community Centre located in Bethel, we provide members of our community valuable opportunities to learn new skills and develop their art and also provide an opportunity to socialize and engage with the community. The club is a safe, cooperative, creative space for members to develop their interest in art; new members are always welcomed, no experience necessary just a desire to create.
Our dedicated studio space, is well lit and well equipped with a variety of studio tools and equipment, such as easels, light box, framing and hanging tools, overhead mirror for demos, tables, chairs, and an extensive art library all available for members to access. We also have an inventory of art supplies available for members to purchase at reasonable cost.
Club workshops have attracted instructors and students from outside Niagara for example, Hamilton, Oakville, Buffalo, Collingwood, Haliburton and Quebec.
The Club promotes art activities and artists in Niagara such as South Niagara Studio Tour, Pelham Art Show, Niagara Pumphouse Artists.
The Club has participated in community events such as Canal Days, arts activities at Roselawn, art shows at local libraries, hospitals and businesses.
Our Annual Art Show Tea and Sale is a community event and an opportunity for our members to showcase their work and promote our club.
